Renter's spouse or partner who meets the same age and driver's license requirements as renter are authorized drivers at no extra cost. Any additional authorized drivers must be present at the time of rental and meet age and license requirements. An additional fee of $15 per day for each additional authorized driver will be added to the rental price, unless other contractual conditions apply.


A spouse or partner is the only additional driver allowed on a rental guarantee with a debit card.

This reservation is made with a contract identification number (CID) assigned to a business account for the exclusive use of its eligible tenants. Use of this CID by persons other than qualified tenants is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action. Tenants using this CID may be asked to show proof of employment or authorization (such as a business card, current company domain email, work order, etc.). Questions about acceptable proof of employment or authorization should be directed to your tour guide.

Rentals originating in the United States: Most vehicles rented in the United States can be driven throughout the United States and Canada. Some classes of vehicles, such as exotics, large passenger or cargo vehicles, and other specialty vehicles, may not be allowed to travel outside the United States. Please contact the rental location directly for details on cross-border restrictions.

Most places do not allow travel to Mexico. If you wish to travel to Mexico, you must purchase additional insurance to cover the vehicle while you are in Mexico. Please contact the branch directly to determine restrictions and availability.

For retail rentals that are only guaranteed with extended protection within the rental price (excluding any liability protection or insurance coverage under a commercial contract), the following applies:

Extended Protection (EP) (where available): Owner provides Renter or any AAD third party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial liability limits applicable to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). EP also provides additional third-party liability protection through an excess liability policy with limits for the difference between primary protection and a combined single limit of 1 million. USD per accident for bodily injury and/or property damage to others as a result of the use or operation of the Owner's rental car by the renter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. EP includes UM/UIM coverage for bodily injury and property damage (only where required by law for property damage) in an amount equal to the minimum financial liability limits applicable to the Vehicle (the primary coverage), plus additional coverage, through a deductible on responsibility. policy, with limits on the difference between the minimum underlying statutory limits and $100,000 per accident (for tenancies beginning in New York, UM/UIM limits are $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; for tenancies beginning in Hawaii, UM/UIM amount limits are $1,000,000 combined single limit) or the state-mandated UM/UIM limit, whichever is greater. LESSOR AND TENANT DISCLAIM ANY ADDITIONAL UM/UIM COVERAGE TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. EP, including UM/UIM benefits, is provided only when the lessee or another AAD drives the vehicle. As a customer, you can choose how you want to pay for fuel.

Option 1- Advance payment of fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for a full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the empty tank. Refunds will not be issued for unused gas.

Option 2 - We recharge
This option allows the tenant to pay National at the end of the tenancy for the gas used but not for the replacement. The price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.

Option 3- Refills
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid additional fuel charges.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is not insurance. The purchase of LDW is optional and not required to rent a vehicle.

You can purchase optional LDW for an additional fee. If you purchase LDW, subject to the actions that invalidate the LDW specified in the rental agreement, we agree to contractually release you from all or part of the costs of damage to, loss of, or theft of the vehicle. DW does not apply to damage occurring in Mexico.

When deciding whether or not to purchase LDW, you may contact your insurance representative or credit card company to determine whether, in the event of damage to the vehicle or theft, you have coverage or protection for such damage or theft and the amount of the ​​your deductible or excess risk.

*For renters originating in California, the LDW varies from $16.99 to $500.00 per day depending on the type of vehicle rented.

Customers residing in the United States, US territories or Canada

Customers residing in the United States, its territories or Canada must present a valid and unexpired government-issued driver's license that includes a photograph of the customer. Digital licenses are not accepted. Driving license must be valid for the entire rental period.

Active duty members of the United States Armed Forces may present an expired home state license under the following conditions:

  • They also present an active military ID, and

  • They comply with the military expansion policy of the issuing state. These policies vary by state, and customers are encouraged to contact the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles for more information.

Customers traveling to the US and Canada from other countries

It is important that customers check with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the states or provinces to which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licensing laws. Digital licenses are not accepted. The following practices are used to ensure that the customer presents an apparently valid license at the time of rental.

Customers traveling to the United States and Canada from another country must present the following:

  • Driver's license from your country of origin that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and

  • If the country of origin license is in a language other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the lettering is in English (ie German, Spanish, etc.), it is recommended, but not required, that an International Driving Permit be used for translation purposes. in addition to the license from the country of origin.

  • If the driver's license from the country of origin is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (ie the alphabet is not an extended Latin alphabet like German or Spanish, but Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.), an international driving permit is required.

  • If an international driving permit cannot be obtained in the country of origin, it can be replaced by another professional typed translation. In any case, the license from the country of origin must also be presented.

  • Customers will not be able to rent a vehicle with only the International Driving Permit. The international driver's license is a translation of the driver's license from the individual's home country and is not considered a driver's license or valid identification.

  • In some US locations, customers without a US driver's license may be required to provide additional documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport or, in certain states (AZ, CA, CO, NM, TX), a valid Mexican voter registration card and/or travel documentation for entry and exit.
  • In some Canadian locations, customers without a Canadian driver's license may be required to provide additional valid government-issued documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport.

Other demands

  • Photocopies of driving licenses are not accepted.

  • "Student permits" are not accepted.

  • Any license that on its face restricts the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with some form of breathalyzer is not acceptable.

  • Temporary licenses may be refused if the rental location is unable to verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional government-issued identification may be required.

Personal effects coverage (PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily fee. If accepted, the PEC contained in the policy insures the hirer's personal effects, additional drivers or any person traveling with the hirer against risk of loss or damage. Benefits are paid in addition to any other insurance coverage that the renter or passengers may have. This is only a summary. PEC is subject to the provisions, limitations and exclusions of the PEC policy underwritten by Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company of the United States. Purchase of PEC is optional and not mandatory for renting a car. The coverage provided by PEC may duplicate the tenant's existing coverage. Alamo is not qualified to assess the adequacy of a tenant's existing coverage; therefore, the renter should investigate their personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate coverage from the PEC.

TENANT REQUIREMENTS AND PAYMENT POLICY FORMS

TENANT CLAIMS POLICY

All renters and additional drivers must be 21 years of age or older. All renters must have a valid driver's license and a major credit or debit card in their name. People with learner or teaching permits are not eligible to rent. This is only a summary. For further details, see the driver's license information policy.

ALDER

The minimum surcharge for drivers aged 21-24 is $25 per day. Renters ages 21-24 can rent the following vehicle classes: economy to full-size cars, cargo and minivans, and compact, small, and standard 5-passenger SUVs.

DEBIT

At airports, debit cards are only accepted at the time of rental if they are accompanied by a return itinerary with a ticket. The name and address on the tenant's driver's license must match their current address. Active military personnel are exempt from address requirements.

Apart from the renter's spouse or common-law partner, no additional drivers are permitted.

If a debit card is used for amounts owed, the available funds in the account linked to the tenant's debit card will be reduced by those amounts. In addition, the Tenant is responsible for any overdraft fees.

INSURANCE VERIFICATION

At the time of rental, renters without a ticketed return itinerary must provide proof of a transferable auto collision, comprehensive and liability policy for the following vehicle classes: Full-size luxury sedan, premium luxury sedan, mid-size luxury sport sedan, electric luxury sedan, premium luxury SUV, extended luxury SUV, Electric Luxury SUV, Limousine and Corvette.

The estimated total rental on the Review and Book screen and/or on the email reservation confirmation will be charged via the payment method specified by the tenant. If the reserved rental is changed, the estimated total rental amount may change and will still be charged according to the form of payment specified by the Renter.

At the time of the rental, the Tenant will sign a rental agreement (the "Agreement") that applies to the rental and includes a Rental Agreement Summary and additional terms and conditions.

DEPOSIT AMOUNT

To account for renter's incurring of additional amounts payable under the contract, renters without a round-trip itinerary must provide a deposit of $400 or $850 for the following vehicle classes: Performance Sport, Full Size Luxury, Luxury Electric SUV, Elite Full Size Electric Sedan, Mid Size Luxury Sport Sedan, Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Limousine and Corvette.

Debit cards are only accepted at the time of hire if they are accompanied by a return ticket itinerary.

The tenant must use a form of payment indicated above for the deposit amount. The deposit amount will not be available for renter's use, nor will the renter be refunded until the vehicle has been returned.

If the Tenant incurs additional amounts owed under the Agreement, these additional amounts may be deducted from the Tenant's deposit, if applicable. If these additional amounts are not deducted from the deposit amount, if any, they will be charged via the form of payment specified by the Lessee at the time of rental, unless the Lessee provides another form of payment specified above for collection.

If you use a debit card for any of the above amounts, the available funds in the account linked to the tenant's debit card will be reduced by those amounts. In addition, the Tenant is responsible for any overdraft fees.

Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment at the time of rental, including the deposit amount, but can be used to pay any amount due at the end of the rental period after the vehicle has been returned. Cash is not accepted.

In addition to one of the above payment methods, credit cards with sufficient available credit listed on the tenant's profile or loyalty account (Emerald Club, E Club, etc.) are accepted as payment for all amounts due under the contract.

All amounts owed by Tenant under the Agreement shall be presented (a) as an authorization to be retained and ultimately debited to Tenant's credit or debit card, or (b) shall be debited to Tenant's Tenant debit.

The renter can purchase Roadside Plus (RSP) from the owner for an additional fee. If Renter purchases RSP, Owner agrees, subject to actions voiding the Damage Waiver, to contractually waive Renter's liability for the cost of providing 24/7 roadside assistance (where available), which includes replacement of lost keys (including remote access devices). flat tire service (if an inflated spare is not available the vehicle will be towed. The cost of a replacement tire is not covered by the RSP), lockout service (if keys are kept inside the vehicle), jump start and flat tire service fuel delivery for up to 3 gallons (or equivalent liters) of fuel if the vehicle runs out of fuel. Roadside Plus services are only available in the United States and Canada. If the Hirer does not purchase the RSP or the RSP becomes invalid as set out above, roadside assistance will be available but standard charges will apply. RSP does not apply in Mexico. Call 1-800-367-6767 for roadside assistance.In CA, KS, MO, NV and NY, RSP does not cover keys.

Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily fee. If accepted, the SLP provides the renter and authorized drivers with a combined single limit of up to $300,000 for third party claims. If Tenant accepts SLP, National provides third party liability coverage up to the applicable minimum financial liability limit and Zurich American Insurance Company provides third party liability insurance in excess of the applicable minimum financial liability limit up to $300,000. This is only a summary. SLP is subject to the terms, conditions, provisions, limitations and exclusions of the supplemental rental liability insurance franchise policy underwritten by Zurich American Insurance Company. Purchase of SLP is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by SLP may duplicate the tenant's existing coverage. National is not qualified to assess the adequacy of existing tenants' coverage; therefore, the tenant should investigate their personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate coverage from the SLP.

Our TollPass program is our electronic toll collection program that allows our tenants to drive through electronic toll lanes and pay tolls electronically, without having to stop and pay in cash.
