As a pet owner, you may be wondering: Are pets allowed in condominiums in Malaysia? It depends on where you live.
According toStrata Management Regulations (Maintenance and Management) 2015, pets are legally allowed in high-rise buildings such as condominiums and apartments in Malaysia. This is because the pets are not a nuisance, inconvenience or pose any health risk to other residents.
Pets mustachievewith state and local government rules and regulations. For example, the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) allows pets but limits the number to 1 pet per person. unit and only specific breeds of pets are allowed. Other municipalities, such as the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), generally prohibit pets in high-rise buildings.
Before you move your pets into an owner-occupied flat, you must therefore check with the municipal council and the owner-occupied flat management whether pets are allowed or not.
